Now it could be the time to talk about doping in football.<\/p>\n<p>Today I saw a couple of people asking about doping in football. \u201eDoes anyone around think football is free from doping?\u201c, a German guy named\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/magischerfcblog\/status\/292137155474640896\" target=\"_blank\">@magischerfcblog asked on twitter<\/a>\u00a0and a German colleague of mine,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/martingiesler\/status\/292172702431727616\" target=\"_blank\">@martingiesler, wrote<\/a>: \u201eSo now is a good time to talk about doping in football. #armstrong\u201c Is it a good time? I think it is.<\/p>\n\n<p>Goal.com has begun: In the morning they forged the bridge and compiled a lot of stuff about our topic in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.goal.com\/en\/news\/1717\/editorial\/2013\/01\/18\/3673607\/lance-armstrong-doping-case-proves-that-football-must-also\" target=\"_blank\">an interesting story<\/a>. \u201eFootball has already missed too many chances to admit its problem.\u201c And later: \u201eIt is time for football to examine its practices throughout the decades and face up to its murky past.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Over the last couple of days some German media wrote about the signing of Pep Guardiola at FC Bayern Munich and they wrote about Guardiolas past including two doping cases in 2001. There was, for example, an article by Johannes Aum\u00fcller\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sueddeutsche.de\/sport\/karriere-von-pep-guardiola-versackt-im-wuestensand-1.1576193\" target=\"_blank\">at S\u00fcddeutsche Zeitung<\/a>. Here is another German link\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nzz.ch\/aktuell\/startseite\/article7TMXW-1.504455\" target=\"_blank\">with some background<\/a>\u00a0about the two doping cases in 2001 (via Hennes Roth).<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s hope for more interesting coverage on doping in football in the near future.
