Fellowship for Asian Investigative Journalists
CORRECTIV and the Adenauer Fellowship for Media & Communications are awarding a fellowship for Asian investigative journalists, which will be financially supported by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (Foundation) with 2,000 Euro per month plus a round-trip flight to Berlin.
For three months, the fellow will investigate the worldwide rise in sea level as part of the nonprofit investigative newsroom CORRECTIV in Berlin. Climate change and sea level rise are two of the most serious threats in our world today. The fellow will work with CORRECTIV and focus especially on the situation around the coastlines in Asia.
As part of the CORRECTIV newsroom, the fellow will cooperate with other reporters in a team and publish a number of different stories on this issue. The stories will be published in English and German. The fellow is free to publish the stories in his native language additionally.
We are looking for young investigative journalists who are interested in working in an international environment and being exposed to new journalistic challenges.
We welcome applicants who:
- are Asian citizens
- are 35 years of age or younger
- have been in the job for at least two years
- have experience in investigative journalism
- are fluent in written and spoken English
- show interest in climate change and its consequences
- are preferably from an area affected by the rise in sea level
The fellowship should start end of September or earlier.

About the Adenauer Fellowship
The Adenauer Fellowship for Media & Communications in Asia supports journalists and communication experts in their pursuit of excellence: with fellowships for postgraduate studies and internships.
It is part of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Media Programme Asia, based in Singapore, that promotes a free, responsible and ethical press through fellowships, publications and events. Its mission is to strengthen the dialogue between the media and politics, as well as to monitor and highlight current media trends in the Asian and Pacific region. Thereby, the Media Programme aims to connect politics, the media and the people to safeguard a value-based dialogue towards a free, ethical and responsible communication in Asia.
The foundation and fellowship is named after Konrad Adenauer (1876-1967) who was the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
